The project

Revamped Sweeten’s marketing site and blog to engage users with real renovation stories and direct traffic to the web app.

Background

As Sweeten grew, it became clear that the marketing site and blog needed a refresh to better align with the updated brand identity and drive more traffic to the Sweeten web app. I worked closely with the marketing team and the creative director to create an intuitive, visually engaging experience that highlights Sweeten’s unique value proposition for both renovators and general contractors.

We focused on elevating the storytelling aspect of home renovation projects to inspire potential clients. By showcasing transformation stories with detailed project breakdowns — including materials used, budget ranges, and timelines — we aimed to guide users through the process. Organizing these stories into categories like kitchens, bathrooms, and entire homes allowed users to easily navigate and find content that resonated with their renovation goals, ultimately guiding them towards using our platform.

Solution

We approached this redesign with a clear focus: to make the site feel like a trusted guide, walking users through the sometimes daunting world of renovations. It wasn’t just about showcasing beautiful before-and-after photos; it was about telling the story behind each project, helping users see themselves in those spaces.

Celebrating Sweeten transformation stories

We designed templates to present each renovation as a story, complete with high-quality visuals and detailed project information. This storytelling approach helps users visualize what’s possible and guides them through the renovation process with confidence.

Content organized by room type

We organized stories into sections like kitchens, bathrooms, and entire homes, making it simple for users to find inspiration tailored to their needs.

Engaging modals:

We introduced interactive banners and prompts throughout the site to gently encourage users to take the next step, whether that’s booking a consultation or exploring more of Sweeten’s offerings.

Takeaways

The refreshed marketing site and blog led to a significant increase in user engagement. Visitors spent more time exploring project stories, which in turn resulted in higher inquiries and consultations. By aligning the content with Sweeten’s mission, we strengthened our connection with users, helping more homeowners turn their renovation dreams into reality.
